Eye Melanoma (Cancer in the Eyes)

The eyes have melanin-producing cells that gives us eye color. Melanoma cancer develops in these cells that produce melanin. Eye melanoma is a type of cancer forming in the eyes that is also called "ocular melanoma."

• large eye melanoma often cause vision loss in the affected eye
• eye melanoma can spread beyond the eye to distant areas of the body including the liver, lungs and bones
